Environmental Club

The Environmental Awareness Club visited the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands World Birding Center. They measured the quality of water in the wetland to determine the health of the habitat. The variables they measured were temperature, pH, turbidity, total solids, dissolved oxygen, and nutrient levels. They also collected macroinvertebrates to determine habitat quality. The park employees told me that this year they have had about 7 different high school visit their grounds, but that our group was by far their favorite because the students were very excited to learn and asked many questions. The students represented Valley View very well.
