What Is the TSI Assessment?
The TSI Assessment (TSIA) is part of the Texas Success Initiative program designed to help determine if you are ready for college-level coursework in the general areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. This program also will help determine what type of course or intervention will best meet your needs to help you become better prepared for college-level coursework if you are not ready.
If you are an entering college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSIA to determine your readiness for college-level work. Based on how you perform, you may either be enrolled in a college-level course that matches your skill level and/or be placed in the appropriate developmental course or intervention to improve your skills and prepare you for success in college-level courses.

La Evaluación TSI (TSIA) es parte del programa de la Iniciativa para el Éxito de Texas diseñado para ayudar a determinar si está listo para cursos de nivel universitario en las áreas generales de lectura, escritura y matemáticas. Este programa también puede ayudar a determinar qué tipo de curso o intervención se adaptará mejor a sus necesidades para ayudarlo a estar mejor preparado para cursos de nivel universitario si no está listo.
Si es un estudiante universitario que ingresa en Texas, debe tomar el TSIA para determinar su preparación para trabajo de nivel universitario. Según su desempeño, puede estar inscrito en un curso de nivel universitario que coincida con su nivel de habilidad y/o ser colocado en el curso de desarrollo apropiado o intervención para mejorar sus habilidades y prepararlo para el éxito en cursos de nivel universitario.
