This week's Tiger Spotlight shines bright upon Mr. Ivan De La Rosa who not only sets high educational standards for his learners to reach and exceed, but expects nothing but respect and courtesy out of his students. One only has to enter his classroom to observe a print-rich environment, and will immediately encounter manners that have long been lost to many, but not in his classroom. This week VVHS tiger spotlight goes out to Mrs. Elizabeth Guzman and Mrs. Maria A. Garcia for doing and outstanding job. Both Mrs. Guzman and Mrs. Garcia are critical components of the counseling dept. and our campus. Their work ethic, professionalism and dedication is exceptional with our students, parents and staff. Week 19 Tiger Spotlight

This week's Valley View High School Tiger Spotlight shines on Ms. Norma Garcia for working closely with her FCCLA students by properly preparing them for the Region V Leadership Conference held in Corpus Christi this past week. Ms. Garcia and her amazing students came back with excellent results as they participated in STAR Proficiency Events, Family and Consumer Science Assessments, and the House of Delegates. Mrs. Garcia's students also won first place for donating the most books in the 5A Division for the Campfire Stories Project! Additionally, six of her teams qualified to advance to the state competition in their areas. Congratulations to Ms. Garcia for inspiring her students to “Rise, Lead, and Succeed”. We truly appreciate all the work she does and her unwavering support for our students. Keep up the great work!

Week 18 Tiger Spotlight

This week's VVHS tiger spotlight goes out to Mr. Charles Torres for continuing to do an amazing job with the dance program. Mr. Torres has been working closely with his students daily to get them well prepared for their competitions. Just recently, our dance students earned a division one rating at the VDEC Dance contest which took place at our campus. This is the second straight year in a roll our dance team has earned this rating. Mr. Torres commitment to our students and to our dance program is evident. Keep up the great work!

Week 17 Tiger Spotlight

VVHS Tiger spotlight this week goes to our Tiger-iffic Mariachi Staff for earning consistent straight Division 1 Ratings at the Texas Association Of Mariachi Educators competition. The Division 1 Rating is the highest possible rating a music ensemble can receive from a judge. As a result of their Division 1 Rating, our varsity Mariachi "Sol De Oro" will be advancing to the State Contest which will be held at South San HS in San Antonio, TX on February 4th, 2017. Thank you Mr. Juan Lopez, Mr. Jose Juarez, and Ms. Anhalie Farias for working with our students event during vacation time to ensure their success at these competitions. Keep up the great work!
